Who am I?

     Welcome. My DJ name is Jarago. I am hobby-DJ learning to mix songs for fun. I am 25 years old from Slovakia. DJing is currently just a hobby for me. What separates me from other DJ's? I believe combination of my music tastes and personality makes me able to create a unique selection of tracks to construct together. I like to use tracks that truly have feelings and emotions heard on them. I believe i am able to create a story in my mixing and to make every mix a journey through my world of music tastes. I spend hours listening to new music every day and i don't look at track popularity and ratings, i pick tracks that catch my attention, unique ones. My partly perfectionist nature forces me to make transitions as smooth as possible and i won't forgive myself even slightest mistakes. Even though i am not surrounded by many people interested in my music tastes, i love doing it for my own pleasure and with hopes, there is at least one person, who will enjoy the mix. :)

Gear

     On summer 2017 i invested in DDJ-RB controller which i used with desktop computer to learn all the DJ basics. Mid-2019 i made bigger investment in   DDJ-1000 and soon after that bought MacBook Pro to become mobile with my gear. I'm currently using this setup to make various mixes which i upload on mixcloud platform & occasionally opt-in for some live mixing at cottage to friends.

Jarago Mix

I started with Jarago Mixes on February 2016. Since then i released a new mix every Friday. Jarago mixes were usually one hour long, unless its a special episode. Jarago Mixes featured the latest electronic music from various known and less known artists. I used to make every episode focused around one or two genres and switching these themes every week (depends on what music i aquire). I decided to discontinue Jarago Mix series in December 2019 with 200th episode because of changes in my personal life, which made weekly mix creation difficult and i also wanted to come with more polished format for mixes. In early 2020 i launched replacement show J-Vibes.

Side Effects

Is a second project i started releasing regularly, where i play my favourite underground deep & tech house tracks and techno. Intention of this series is to cut out this type of music from Jarago Mixes, as it is more focused on energetic edm. Side Effects was created with intention to find a new home for that kind of music.

J-Vibes

J-Vibes is a latest project i started working on in 2020. Show separated to three editions which are each focused on different mood - Dance, Bass and Festival editions. They are currently being released bi-weekly on sundays. This format allows me to spend more time looking for good music and then showcase more genre-specific shows. J-Vibes premiered in January 2020.

Tequilani Trap Mix

I already made a few TT Mixes where i feature my favourite Trap music and take mixing to another level. I especially appreciate the beat and bass of trap, which makes me pick tracks with minimal amount of rapping. These mixes are not frequent because gathering trap tunes is usually slow process for me, but is worth it in the end. Current plan is to release one every year.

Other Mixes

There are sometimes non-series oriented mixes, where i explore music from different genres, like DnB, or where i try to do things differently or highlight specific music type in a single mix. Always fun to work on those couple times a year.
